THE HEAT OF SUMMER....
This is one of the worst Months in the industry, and instead of laying
over and playing dead by closing more nights, laying off more employees,
cutting back on marketing and giving up, you should be doing just the
That's right, you should, "Make It In May" by packing patrons in. Please
spare me all the excuses and flawed and frayed logic. You are simply going
to give up instead of GET IT ON.
NOW THE RICHIE RANTS:
You could not ask for a better opportunity to attack and suck the life out
competition than right now. You could not long for a better time to bring
on "THE FUN" than the Month of May. Sure the "heat is on," so what?
Clubbers only need "THE FUN" and not cheap drinks or free drinks, or cheap
beer to party. They want, they long for, and desire "THE FUN."
But you have no clue�.
All you know how to do is cheap, discount, lower the price, give it away,
waive the cover, let �em in free.
Be honest and admit it, You and Your Wife, and You and Your Partners don't
have a "GAME PLAN" or "WAR PLAN" how to "Make It In May." But I do. I pack
clubs, I pack restaurants that transform into clubs at night, I pack bars
that have a dance floor, and I double their May Revenue and Patron Counts
by implementing "THE FUN."
So many Clubs, bars and restaurants that at night should transform into
night life adventures fall by the wayside, due to arrogant and ignorant
management. Why? Failure to achieve, generate, and produce maximum
revenue. Reason? Giving the house away. Wasting valuable dollars on
worthless marketing. Bending your dress code out of despair.
Spinning the wrong tunes.
We are on the verge of Summer. Every club should know exactly what it is
presenting and implementing during these long hot Summer Nights. I have
found Club Promoters have Zero to offer. And to you Club Owners who refuse
to make an effort to bring in clubbers and do strong nights, suffer! You
have no one to blame but yourself.
I have received dozens and dozens of emails from DJs, Barmaids and even
Doormen who are so frustrated where they work, because the crowd is trash,
the Owner doesn't care, the Club is being torn apart, piece by piece, and
the Owner still doesn't care. When employees care more about a club than
the Owner, it's really time to move on and quit. Why work at a club where
an Owner is totally arrogant? Why give more to the club than the Owner is?
It's not your Club, find another Club, find the investors and open a club
and put this club out of biz. But whatever you do, don't stay at a club
where the Owner has no clue and is unwilling to accept change and input.
I have seen so many clubs open with such ignorant tactics. For instance,
there is a club in my area, a gorgeous club that has been closed due to an
Owner who was his own worst enemy. Anyway someone else takes over the club
puts out "homemade" signs saying the new name and new owners, and presents
an "Extreme Makeover Comedian" for their opening.
Who cares? Who is going to attend? Who is the Comedian? (No Name Given). I
give these new Owners four months tops and they will be history.
This is one of the most difficult times of the Year to open a club, and
you have to be at the top of your Game in order to thrive, let alone
simply survive. If you really want to break all revenue records and knock
your competition on it's tuchus, then pick up the phone and call me right
