Can you invite patrons to drink, to have a "Small Tapas Plate", "UP ON YOUR ROOF"?
The latest and greatest area of a Bar, Club, Restaurant, even Sports Bars and Gentleman Clubs for Guests to hang out, is on the Roof.
You have wasted good money on painting the interior, on remodeling the interior, on the sign you have outside, but what you missed completely was "THE ROOF". It's the Heat of Summer, and Patrons want to be outside, but not on the sidewalk, not in the back of your establishment, but on top of it.
You may not grasp it, you may not even understand what I am urging you to do, but it's true.
In my small City alone, we have 8 Roof Top Bars/Eateries, that are part of the main room.
For once take the lead, be the first, be the latest, be the smartest, and be the Happening Place.
If you can't serve food of any kind, then don't, but a "POP UP BAR", music, comfortable seating is the key and servers wearing a unique stand out uniform, that separates them from the rest of your staff.
The Umbrellas are free from liquor companies, energy drink companies, beer companies, don't be afraid to ask, you give them business every week, what do they give you in return?
Even if your a Tavern, it's time you redefined "The Tavern" image and put your patrons on the roof.
Your competition has been hurting you, they are drawing your own, once faithful customers.
Well, it's time to go offensive, rather than defensive.
Don't, do not, tell anyone what your doing, have your staff sign a legal form which is called a "Non Disclosure Form". This is so they keep their mouths closed.
Don't expect me to give you the entire layout and plan for cooling your customers off, and for generating a huge amount of revenue up on the roof, but I will tell you this, it works every time.
I will tell you right now, there are probably not one single bar, club, lounge, restaurant, sports bar, that has a roof top concept in your area.
You should run not walk, but run to get this done.
Maybe your Landlord won't allow it, then forget it.
But, if you can and you don't?
You are a person filled with fear, confusion, and depression.
But, there are so many new Concepts that you can implement, that will bring your place back to life.
Right now, it's Summer, you should be capitalizing on it, not fighting it.
You have to set the scene.
You want "WOW" all over your interior and add some to your exterior.
I watched a former "Taco Bell" go through a transformation to become an "Italian Wood Burning Oven", upstairs with an elevator, outside, the Restaurant Owners easily put in over $700,000. They created a Stand Out beautiful, magnificent building.
The problems I for see are, there is no traffic light.
There is no turning late for traffic going South.
I don't see where they have a huge parking area.
But, regardless, they opened, they are serving, the feedback is all positive, I hope they are successful.
They are contemplating a Roof Bar as I write this.
If your going to "THRIVE" in 2018, you must go "ABOVE & BEYOND" to compete.
So you don't have the EXPERTISE, the EXPERIENCE, the KNOWLEDGE, to get there, but I do, and I will take your place UP, UP and AWAY. I only know one way to go. That's why I am emailed from all over the US and the World. Owners need major direction, guidance and insightful information, that they just don't have the time, nor the inclination to grasp or learn.
YOUR BANDS SHOULD PERFORM WIRELESS
THAT'S RIGHT, LEAD SINGER, GUITAR PLAYERS, EVEN KEYBOARD PLAYERS SHOULD ALL BE WIRELESS.
AT MY CLUB, WE PAID BANDS BACK IN THE 80s AND 90s MOSTLY $3000 A WEEK. ALL THEIR MILK CARTONS THAT HELD UP EQUIPMENT HAD TO BE COVERED WITH BLACK FABRIC, THE ENTIRE BAND, EXCEPT FOR THE DRUMMER, HAD TO WIRELESS.
WE HAD A VISION, THAT SEEING BANDS JUST ROCK ON A STAGE WAS NOT ENOUGH. WE WANTED THE LEAD SINGERS, THE GUITARISTS, EVEN THE KEYBOARD PLAYERS TO ROAM THE ENTIRE CLUB WHILE PERFORMING. OH YES THEY DID.
TOO BANDS TAKE BAR AND CLUB GIGS FOR GRANTED.
GOING WIRELESS, FOR THE INDIVIDUAL MUSICIANS, ENHANCES THEIR SETS.
ANY LEAD SINGER CAN USE A WIRELESS MICROPHONE.
BUT SHOW ME A BAND THAT IS WIRELESS, EXCEPT FOR THEIR DRUMMER?
OUR BANDS LOVED THE FREEDOM TO GET OFF THAT STAGE AND PLAY.
WE ALSO HAD OUR BANDS DRESS NO LESS THAN OUR DRESS CODE WAS.
WHY SHOULD BANDS DRESS LIKE SLOBS, BUT YOUR CUSTOMERS HAVE TO MEET A SPECIFIC CRITERIA.
WHY ARE YOU NOT OUT THERE SEEKING BANDS THAT HAVE NEVER EVER PLAYED YOUR AREA BEFORE, RATHER THAN THE SAME PREDICTABLE BAR BANDS?

I read an article in "DJ TIMES", the Premier Magazine for DJs about DJ "MIJA".
She said what I have been saying to DJs for years.
She said, "I'm a DJ, not a pop star, my job is to make people dance with each other and get lost in the moment".
If more Bar,Club DJs would put their egos under the Crown Amps, and stop dressing like slobs, but focus on packing their dance floor, bars and clubs would be making alot more money.
I taught dozens and dozens of DJs how to work the wireless mic, how to interact with their Crowd, how to take all the "SWAG", that the bar manager received, simply by asking for it from his beer and liquor vendors, and give it away on the dance floor. If they are not dancing for five straight songs they get nothing.
Get them hot and sweaty, get them worked up, get them eroticized. Nobody should be in the DJ area, not his girlfriend, not his best friend, nobody, his job is to motivate, stimulate and make it a piece of cake, because that's what their job really is.
"CAKE ON THE BEACH", absolutely.
Spin that "Bruno Mars"& Cardi B", top it off with that "Pink", followed by that "DJ SNAKE", I mean this isn't rocket science, it's lighting up that dance floor.
Oh so your bar doesn't have a dance floor?
Then move all those 4 top tables and chairs and stack em behind the building. Now you've got a dance floor.
Use the top of your bar like years ago in "COYOTE UGLY". What use to be hot comes around to be hot again.
People don't go into a bar or club because of a certain DJ, if it's not a SUPER DJ, they go for the spins, if they can connect to the spins, they stay, if not they split.
BTW, in Vegas, DJs are being paid way,way, way too much. It's time to cut their pay and knock those new add on fees off your clubber's bill.
Way too much EGO in the DJ World. Way Too Much.
Why suffer and go through knots in your stomach, because of the hassles and headaches your DJ creates for you on a regular basis.He could be working the window @ WENDY'S.

Selling Tickets For your Concerts, Special Events, You don't need "eventbrite", you don't need "Ticketmaster" if all you are selling is up to 500 Tickets.
DO IT YOURSELF.
I have always sold up to 500 Tickets for my CONCERTS and SPECIAL EVENTS using my own phone and the bar or club's web site and Face Book Page.
Avoid paying commissions and the mistakes, that occur when using a third party to sell your tix.
BUT THIS IS ONLY FOR UP TO 500 TICKETS.
It's so easy.
I'm not going to give you the formula.
Think about it yourself.
But, I will tell you, it's time to reduce your overhead, and you start with outside resources, that you really do not need, but only use because your lazy.
Well, it's time to get up, get out and get on saving expenses, reducing overhead, and using your own in-house Staff and Management.
From behind the bar to in the kitchen, from on the stage to the DJ Booth, you can cut an easy 20% from what you are paying right now. FACT.
Dining Patrons are prone to order more expensive dishes, when they can see pictures of the dish in their menu.
Seriously, stop living and operating in the past. You know you need new menus, but this new Menu must have pictures of Key Dishes so that Customers can be enticed by what they see.
The key is to make sure the kitchen puts out the dish, just like it appears in the menu, no changes, no differences.
Dining Patrons also want a fresh, bright, trendy atmosphere, and not the old oak wood, and brass designs.
Stop operating in the past.
It's 2018 for crying out loud, yet you refuse to embrace these times.
Your atmosphere is outdated, your menu is worn out, your Staff is past their prime, and need new training, your rest rooms are hideous, yet, you think and blame the economy, when it's your own fault.
The very fact that you have a bar, and offer no night life which can account for tens of thousands of dollars a month in additional revenue is on you.
I had a manager of a Tavern, tell me in order for his Tavern to do $10,000 on "CINCO DE MAYO/Kentucky Derby", it would require 450 patrons spending $22 each.
See that is the old way of thinking.
He has not a clue that it could take half that many Guests, depending on the food, drink, and other streams of income to do the very same 10k.
So, I wonder how much that Tavern did on that particular Saturday, after all?
The Tavern's web site is so outdated, so full of clutter, it has no specific message, no visual enticement, no actual energy for anyone who lives near the Tavern, who visits the web page, to want to even consider dining and drinking there.
This is the biggest problem in this industry.
Lack of being ahead of the pack, rather than behind the pack.
There is only one "JUSTIFY" Champion Horse, but there are plenty of Bars that are making serious money, because their Owners, their Managers, and their Staffs are keen on what makes Millennials spend and when.

Do not just continue to operate under the same Format, without "ENERGIZING IT".
You can stand outside your restaurant, your bar, your club, your sports bar, your hotel bar, your pool bar, your bar & grille, and wonder, why it is so slow?
The Answers are numerous.
But, the prime reasons are crystal clear.
You are not offering, not doing, not giving your customers and potential customers anything new.
Its the same old Music, Menu, so called Promotions.
When are you going to realize that your in the "Been There" Category and not in the "Must Go There" Top of the head, places to drink at, to dine at, to party at?
You want to be SUPERIOR, not predictable.
Yes, again, it's the "HEAT OF SUMMER" so what are you doing to cool your customers off with "FUN", with "FAB" with "WOW"?
Haven't you suffered financially enough?
