  It Could Be Worse, Your The CEO of "APPLEBEE's" and you've just closed 140 of your "Bar & Grille".
Why, because you never ever understood this generation and how they think? You never ever reviewed your TV Spots and tried to comprehend that they never ever connected with your specific consumers.
You never ever changed your menu from top to bottom to remove the grease, the fat, the sodium, the cholesterol, the calories, but still delivered great tasting small plates and party platters.
You never ever replaced lame, lazy bar staff with outgoing, personality driven bartenders.
You never ever went after "Late Night Business", but not with cheap drinks or reduced appetizers, but rather with YUP,"FUN"< "FAB"< "WOW FACTORS"?
You never ever set foot in at least a dozen different locations, to see first hand, who  you were drawing in, what they were ordering and why they didn't come back more often?
You never ever "RE-SET" "APPLEBEE'S" with a new, fresh, image, so that this Generation was drawn to them and not away from them.
The "LOOK", the "Uniforms", the "Music", the "BAR", the "Entire Format" of "APPLEBEE'S" is way past it's time. It never ever transformed past it's time, it's always just stood still.
This year, Hundreds if not Thousands of Independent Bars, Bar & Grilles are going to close because, bottom line, "OWNERS ARE TOTALLY OUT OF TOUCH".

SO, YOU HIRED THE BEST BACK OF THE HOUSE STAFF YOU COULD, YOU STOLE SERVERS FROM UPBEAT, STYLISH EATERIES, YOU HIRED MALE BARTENDERS, INSTEAD OF FEMALE BARTENDERS, YOUR MENU IS WAY TOO LOADED WITH DISHES, THAT WILL NEVER EVER GO OUT THE KITCHEN DOORS.
 YOUR PRICING IS TOO EXPENSIVE. YOU WANT TO CREATE AN EXCLUSIVE TYPE ATMOSPHERE, WHICH ONLY APPEALS TO A VERY SELECT DEMOGRAPHIC. INSTEAD YOU SHOULD OF GIVEN A GREAT DEAL OF THOUGHT TO  REACHING 25 TO 55 YEAR OLDS. YES, YOU CAN REACH SUCH A WIDE RANGE OF AGE GROUPS AT ONCE.
 THERE IS A NEW FAD GOING ON , WHICH IS OPENING A FASHION BOUTIQUE FOR YOUNG MEN AND WOMEN ON THE GROUND FLOOR, THEN A BEAUTIFUL EATERY UPSTAIRS. VERY PRICEY, VERY FINE SERVICE, DELISH FOOD, EVEN A BAR, THIS SEEMS TO BE A NEW CONCEPT THAT SOME HOSPITALITY GROUPS ARE CREATING.
THE BEST LOCALE FOR THESE TYPES OF FORMATS ARE TOURIST AREAS.
YET, YOU ARE SLOW, WHILE PEOPLE COMPLIMENT YOU, HOW BEAUTIFUL YOUR PLACE IS, THEY DON'T COME BACK, THEY DON'T BRING THEIR FRIENDS BACK, YOU RELIED TOO MUCH ON WHAT YOU LOOK LIKE, WHAT YOU TASTE LIKE, BUT NOT WHAT YOU OFFER , THAT NO OTHER COMPETING PLACE DOES?

     TAKE THE RIDICULOUS REALITY SHOW "SIESTA KEY", WHICH I HAVE MENTIONED BEFORE IN NEGATIVE TERMS, THEY USE DIFFERENT BAR AND EATERY LOCALES, BUT THEY DON'T SHOW THE NAME OF THE PLACE, THEY DON'T GIVE THE EXPOSURE THESE ESTABLISHMENTS SHOULD BE FOR ALLOWING THE FILMING, WHICH DISRUPTS THEIR USUAL BUSINESS.

   WE HAD A BAR FILMED IN THE MOVIE "PALMETTO" STARRING WOODY HARRELSON AND ELIZABETH SHUE, THE BAR WAS A LOT OF THIS FLICK, BUT AFTER THE MOVIE WAS DONE, THE BAR DID NOT CAPITALIZE ON IT'S NEW FOUND FAME. NOT AT ALL. THE BEST "MARKETING MANIA" YOU CAN HOPE FOR, IS A TV SHOW OR MOVIE SCENE SHOT AT YOUR PLACE.

 SO, YOUR IN TOTAL SHOCK, YOU SPENT ALL THIS $ LISTENED TO WHAT EVERYONE SAID TO SPEND AND DO.WHILE EVERYONE COMPLIMENTS YOUR END RESULT, THEY ARE NOT COMING BACK, THEY ARE NOT BRINGING THEIR FRIENDS WITH THEM, THEY ARE NOT RECOMMENDING YOUR "NEW SPOT".

BECAUSE YOU DIDN'T DO WHAT EVERY OTHER PLACE IS NOT DOING. YOU OFFER NO "FUN", NO "WOW FACTORS", NO "FAB", SO YOUR THE SAME AS THE REST, EVEN THOUGH YOU INVESTED ALL THAT GREEN.

SO MANY CHAIN RESTAURANTS THAT OWNED THE MARKET, ARE SUFFERING, SINKING AND SLOW ON NIGHTS, REMEMBER, WHEN THEY WERE ONCE PACKED TILL CLOSING.

 TEQUILA IS GOOD FOR YOU ! WHO KNEW? NOW YOU DO!

   Good news, margarita lovers of the world: Tequila might actually be able to help you lose weight. According to a 2014 study by the American Chemical Society (ACS), agavins, natural sugars found in the agave plant which is used to make tequila, could lower blood glucose levels for people with type 2 diabetes, and help obese people lose weight.

We have found that since agavins reduce glucose levels and increase GLP-1, they also increase the amount of insulin,” said Mercedes G. López, Ph.D and one of the researchers. GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1) is a hormone that slows the stomach from emptying, thereby stimulating production of insulin and making you feel fuller for longer.
“Agavins are not expensive and they have no known side effects, except for those few people who cannot tolerate them,” López added.
To prove that, scientists fed mice a standard diet, and added agavins to some of their water. They discovered that the mice who consumed agavins ate less overall and had lower blood glucose levels. The effects were stronger than other artificial sweeteners like aspartame and agave syrup. The mice consuming agavins also produced the GLP-1 hormone.

Now, you may be wondering: Why do these agavins affect us differently than other sweeteners? López explained that because of their structure, they don’t affect blood sugar in the same way.
She pointed out that high-fructose corn syrup is loaded with fructose sugars and, therefore, can raise blood sugar levels. In contrast, agavins are fructoses linked together in long, branched chain that the human body can’t break down. Since they are non-digestible, they are processed as a dietary fiber and therefore do not raise blood glucose levels like some other sweeteners.
She also warned that agavins are not the same thing as agave nectar or agave syrup, which appear on many health-food store shelves. These products contain fructans that have been broken down into individual fructoses, so they are much more similar to high-fructose corn syrup.

I eat, sleep and breathe this business for Sports Bars, Beach Bars, Hotel Bars, Hotel Pools, Bowling Centers, Restaurants with bars and patios, Nightclubs, Bars, Bars & Grilles, There is no place I can't put a Crowd of quality Guests in that has the criteria in place to PARTY, after food service is over.
But, it takes planning, promoting, presenting, this does not happen over night or just posting on Face Book. It takes a full Month of advance WORD OUT.
