Let's forget about all "THE DRAMA" that naturally comes along with owning/Managing a Gentlemen's Club.
Let's move on to the fact, that "POLE DANCING" is no longer the #1 "Dancer Delight".
TAKE THE POLES OUT. TAKE THE POLES OUT. TAKE THE POLES OUT
Take the Poles out. But what do you replace them with? Ah, that's what I know, I created the CONCEPT, I realized that the Poles are so OVAH.
Even the Ladies are bored with the Poles.
It's going to be 2016 and you're still stuck in the Pole Dancing Format of a Gentlemen's Club.
Those outdated, out of atmosphere Poles are costing you tens of thousands of dollars weekly.
They totally lack any "WOW".
But, YOU can change your outdated to updated.
Stop complaining about how slow it is, and start raving about how busy it is.......................................
The reason you go through so many dancers is simple: They are not making money.
The reason is simple: Your not drawing Spenders.
The reason is simple: Your Social Media Marketing, your Branding, your typical boring average radio, flyers, no longer work.
The problems with Gentlemen Clubs range from
A. Either you, have Beautiful Dancers or you have NONE.
B. Either You, have Professional Managers or you have NONE.
C. Either you are a Hands On Owner who has total Control over what goes on, or your an absentee Owner with no clue as to the behavior, the law breaking, the games, the nonsense that occurs.
D. Either your Gentlemen's Club is beautiful and sparkling or worn out and torn up to the point of very few Men even want to come in.
E. Your Gentlemen's Club has the worse reputation, because you have no controls, policies, in place that result in "ZERO TOLERANCE".
F. Either you have a Professional DJ or you have a slob that curses and acts like an unprofessional.
G. Either you offer food in a variety of different elements or you simply ignore offering food to your patrons.
H. Either you have the proper "MALE HOSTS", never use the words "security" or "bouncers" or you don't.
I. Either you have at least six different streams of revenue besides the Cover Charge or you don't.
J. Either you have a LOYALTY CARD for consistent Patrons to be rewarded for their attendance or your don't.
K. Either you have more than a "VIP ROOM" but an "ULTRA SUITE" for Upscale Patrons, or you don't.
L. Either you maximize Social Media Marketing, Branding, Platforms, or you simply use a Face Book Page that has very little impact, produces next to zero results.
M. Either your Dancers wear fresh new Costumes and dazzle or they wear the same costumes over and over and the frazzle.
M. Either you encourage COUPLES to enter or you don't.
N. Either you have a dress code or you create major perhaps dangerous situations because you don't.
O. Either you Sell a "VIP CARD" for entry or you don't.
P. NOW WHEN IT'S SO BAD,A VIOLENT AWFUL INCIDENT OCCURED, NOBODY WANTS TO COME IN.
YOUR REPUTATION IS THE WORSE, YOUR CLUB'S NAME IS MUD, IT'S TIME TO:

7.RETAKE BACK YOUR CUSTOMERS
THIS PROCESS IS A MAJOR CHALLENGE AND WHILE I HAVE LAUNCHED THIS STRATEGY TOO MANY TIMES TO COUNT, IT IS A MAJOR RELENTLESS,DEDICATED, TENACIOUS MIND SET THAT WILL OVERCOME ALL THE PAST NEGATIVITY.
WITHOUT IT, YOU HAVE NO CHANCE FOR SUCCESS.
ANY VIOLENCE IN THE PAST YEAR, SUCH AS A SHOOTING KNIFING, ATTACK ON WOMEN, VIOLENT FIGHTS, REQUIRE AN EVEN FURTHER STEEP NO NONSENSE, ZERO TOLERANCE, CLEAN HOUSE, FRESH NO SIGNS OF THE OLD TROUBLED VENUE AT ALL.

I am not a club owner, but I am thinking about getting into club promotion in just my local area. I have a full time job that I am successful at, but club promoting would be a fun way to make some side cash and network.

Mike, It's not what I can tell you in the form of "EXPERTISE", it's what you actually do Step by Step, to learn exactly what makes a club run.
First you should be a "Barback" behind the bar.
Then you should be a Bartender.
Then you should be a Door Host.
Then you should learn how to spin, mix, deck load, and be a DJ.
Then you should be a Club Manager.
Then be a Gopher for a successful Club Promoter, if you can find one.
Then Michael, you should attempt your efforts @ being a Club Promoter.
I would not quit your day job.I cannot teach you to be a Club Promoter, I do not feel there is any NEED for this type of person in clubs.
Club Owners, Managers, DJs, and Staff should form a United Front in the promotions, marketing, social media mastering, production, presenting and success of Club Events all done "In House".
I would not expect any FUN or Fists Full of Cash from your first year in Club Promotions.
You should focus on your day job and excelling at it, to a top management level. Don't enter the cage of club promoters, because success is very far and for very, very few.
QUICK TRUE STORY HAPPENED IN JUNE.I had a Friend who managed a National Eatery in a Mall, without any notice as usual, the Company closed the Unit down leaving this very qualified Manager out of work.
Sure, they offered this Manager another Unit 45 miles away, with an additional pay increase of $45 a week. That was suppose to pay their gas?
So the Manager turned down the job.
I placed the Manager in a very high profile Eatery, that is packed, breakfast, lunch and dinner, in addition to take out, delivery and drive up.
This Manager is doing fabulous, making more money, is totally happy in the new position and when one door closes another door open.
And yes, the old adage, "It's Who You Know", does sure help in these times.
IF, YOUR A DESTINATION LOCATION, YOU HAVE TO BE FAR MORE AGGRESSIVE IN YOUR FORMAT, YOUR MARKETING, YOUR STRATEGIES: I HAD AN OWNER CONTACT ME, HIS LOCATION IS ALL THE WAY OUT IN THE WOODS, HIS BEST NIGHT IS TUESDAY NIGHT, WHEN DRINKS ARE $2. HIS BANDS ARE OVERPLAYED LOCAL, NOBODY WANTS TO SEE THESE BANDS.
HIS CONCEPT IS CONFLICTED, CONFUSING, CONSTRAINED. SADLY, HE REFUSES TO CHANGE, TO EMBRACE THE FUTURE OF NIGHTLIFE, HE IS NOT GOING TO BE OPEN IN A YEAR. NEVER HAVE SO MANY WHO HAVE NO BUSINESS BEING IN THIS BUSINESS GET IN IT, BUT NOT TO WIN IT, RATHER TO LOSE IT.
YOU CAN'T BUILD, CREATE, AND DESIGN WHAT YOU THINK PEOPLE WANT, YOU HAVE TO OPEN WHAT PEOPLE ARE SCREAMING FOR.
TAKE MY COMMUNITY, WE DON'T HAVE A SINGLE NIGHTCLUB.
SURE WE HAVE BARS THAT PLAY THE SAME LOCAL BANDS OVER AND OVER, WHO NEVER LEARN NEW MATERIAL, WHO NEVER DRESS STAGE UP, WHO NEVER COVER UP THEIR WIRING AND WORN OUT EQUIPMENT WITH NICE BLACK MATERIAL. BUT PLAY THE SAME SETS OVER AND OVER, AND NOBODY WANTS TO HEAR THEM ANYMORE.
WE ARE INUNDATED WITH CRAFT BEER BARS, THEIR ENTERTAINMENT CONSIST OF "KARAOKE" AND AC/DC TRIBUTE BANDS.
WHILE THESE OWNERS ARE VERY GOOD AT BREWING CRAFT BEERS, THEY DON'T HAVE A CLUE ON HOW TO ATTRACT WOMEN AND MEN WHO SPEND MORE THAN JUST THE TYPICAL CRAFT BEER AFICIONADO.
OUR DAILY NEWSPAPER JUST DEVOTED IT'S MAIN FEATURE TO OUR OLDEST DIVE BAR.
IT'S NOT THE TYPE OF BAR, I WOULD SEND ANYONE IN.
WHILE IT MAY BE AROUND FOR YEARS AND YEARS,WHAT KEEPS IT GOING IS IT'S DRIVE UP WINDOW. PEOPLE DON'T HAVE TO GET OUT OF THEIR CARS TO BUY THEIR BEER OR LIQUOR. THAT IS WHERE THE BULK OF THEIR BUSINESS IS DONE.
SURE WE HAVE A WORN OUT, WOOD BEATEN "HOOTERS" , BUT WE HAVE NO "WOW", NO "FUN", NO "FAB" VENUES.
WE HAVE AN ULTRA LOUNGE THAT IS BUILT ON THE GROUND FLOOR , UNDER A CONDO.
SO THE CONDO OWNERS ARE TAKING EVERY STEP THEY CAN TO CLOSE DOWN THIS LOUNGE. NOISE, FORMAT, CULTURE, THEY JUST DO NOT WANT IT OPEN.
THE OWNER DID TOO LITTLE TOO LATE TO SAVE THIS PLACE. I UNDERSTAND IT IS FOR SALE, BUT NO ONE IS RUSHING TO BUY A MAJOR HEADACHE.
WHEN BREAKING IN A NEW ARTIST WITH REAL TALENT
ALWAYS WORK WITH A BAR OR CLUB OWNER WHEN YOU HAVE AN ARTIST YOU WANT TO BOOK. NEVER USE A "CLUB PROMOTER".WHY WOULD YOU ADD A MIDDLE MAN WHO HAS NO AUTHORITY, NO ABILITY, NO ACCESS TO INSURING A SUCCESSFUL GIG? WHEN I MANAGED BANDS, I ALWAYS INTRODUCED MYSELF TO THE OWNER, THE MANAGER, INSURED THE SOUND, LIGHTS, BACKSTAGE, WERE QUALITY AND NOT CHEESY. WHEN I OWNED ONE OF THE LARGEST CLUBS IN FLORIDA, I MADE SURE MY STAGE WAS HUGE, MY DRESSING ROOM FIRST CLASS,MY SOUND SYSTEM THE BEST, MY LIGHTING IDEAL, AND THE SLIDING LOUVER CURTAINS ENERGIZED THEIR OPENING INTRODUCTION.I HAD A NINE PIECE HOUSE BAND, WITH HORNS, AND WIRELESS MICS, GUITARS, THEIR NAME "ONE FOR ALL", THEIR SPECIALTY "EARTH WIND AND FIRE", THEY NAILED EVERY SONG. THEY LEARNED TWO NEW SONGS EVERY WEEK. I PAID THEM OVER $3000 A WEEK. THEY WERE WORTH EVERY SINGLE PENNY. I NEVER WORRIED ABOUT BILLS, OR CROWDS. WE WERE ALWAYS PACKED. I KEPT CREATING NEW PROMOTIONS, NEW THEMES, NEW CONCEPTS, NEW CONTESTS, NEW CELEBRATIONS, NEW HAPPENINGS EVERY WEEK. I INCORPORATED FOOD, BAR, FUN, MUSIC, INTERACTION, I HAD A $10,000 DANCE FLOOR. I SOLD MY CLUB FOR $100,000 MORE THAN I PAID FOR IT A YEAR LATER. I WILL NEVER FORGET OUR SOUTHERN WINE AND SPIRITS SALESMAN TELLING ME, ALL MY COMPETITION SAID WAS "GLAD HE IS GONE, NOW WE ALL CAN MAKE SOME $ ".
I LIVED, ATE, SLEPT AND BREATHED MY CLUB. MY PARTNER AND I WERE BEST FRIENDS AND ALSO BEST BUSINESS PARTNERS. WE WERE ALWAYS ON THE SAME PAGE. WE WERE FEARLESS, AND I STILL AM. I HAVE NEVER MET SO MANY OWNERS WHO ARE SCARED OF CHANGE. AFRAID OF SOCIAL MEDIA, DON'T UNDERSTAND THE MUSIC OF EDM, ALLOW THEIR DJ TO CURSE AND DRESS LIKE A SLOB. DON'T HAVE RULES AGAINST EMPLOYEES DRINKING WHILE WORKING, EMPLOYEES LIVING ON THEIR CELL PHONES,EMPLOYEES DATING
EMPLOYEES DOING DRUGS.ALL OF THE WORSE SITUATIONS POSSIBLE.
SADLY, I KNOW OF A BAR/RESTAURANT OWNER NOW, HIS MANAGER IS AWFUL, DOES NOTHING, THE OWNER IS OVERPAYING HIM AND PAYING OVER $1000 A WEEK FOR LIVE ENTERTAINMENT, THAT YOU CAN'T DANCE TO, NOBODY IS COMING IN, HIS MENU IS 40% TOP HEAVY WITH FOOD HE DOES NOT EVEN SERVE, LET ALONE HAVE TO CARRY THAT INVENTORY WEEKLY. HE IS DEPRESSED, DISAPPOINTED, BURNT OUT AND SADLY WILL END UP CLOSING. HIS HEART IS NOT IN IT, HE CLOSES TOO EARLY, HE HAS NO FORMAT OF FUN, NO MARKETING PATH AT ALL, HIS SOCIAL MEDIA PRESENCE IS NEXT TO NONE, HIS STAFF LEAVES, HE HIRES NEW PEOPLE ONLY TO SEE THEM BOLT.
THE WORSE ELEMENT IS, THE PLACE IS BEAUTIFUL.
IT IS A TOP TO BOTTOM STYLE APPEAL SETTING.
BUT NOBODY IS COMING IN.

The launch and financial backing seems to be groups of individuals, most with excess money to invest, others with nothing but ego for a Concept, they want to oversee, yet, have no clue if it will be profitable.
All the business plans in the World mean Nothing.
I have seen over and over, hundreds of thousands of dollars put into buildings that investor groups lease, hang up a catchy name, and then after buying all their friends drinks, comping their cover charge, nobody comes in. It happens all across the USA once a week. Why? Because while these investors are successful in perhaps Restaurants, or other Bars, when you take a new concept and launch it with no REAL EXPERT that is at your side to guide, direct, suggest, advise, you lose your investment, your friendships and what was suppose to be a HUGE SUCCESS is a total dud.

SURE THEY WILL BOOK THE SAME LOCAL BANDS, BUT I THINK THE "WORLD OF BEER" FORMAT IS LACKING IN "WOW" MORE THAN ANY ELEMENT OF THEIR CONCEPT. THEY ARE FINALLY ADDING FOOD TO THEIR DAILY OPERATION, BUT THE MENU IS NOT WHAT IT SHOULD BE.
YES, THEY WILL THRIVE, BUT AS FOR LONG TERM SURVIVAL I DON'T SEE A 60 TO A 100 TAP BEER VENUE BEING THE ANSWER.
WHY BUY A "WORLD OF BEER FRANCHISE", AND PAY ALL THOSE COSTS?
HOW MANY CRAFT BEER BARS ARE IN YOUR AREA?
HOW MANY BARS IN YOUR AREA ARE FINALLY FOCUSING ON CRAFT BEERS.
I ASK SO MANY BAR OWNERS ABOUT "CRAFT BEERS" AND THEY RESPOND "WHAT ARE THOSE"?
